Captain Lamond's March was composed about 1802 to honor Captain Coll Lamond of Monydrain who died in 1801 from a fever contracted while serving with the Black Watch in the Egyptian campaign. He previously had served with the 76th Highlanders in the American Revolution from 1779 till 1784. He was then posted to the Black Watch, and served with them in Flanders in 1793. He fought at Nieuport and Nimeguen, and was wounded at Gildersmalsen in 1795. He then served two years in the West Indies before service in Egypt.. Before returning home, he was awarded a medal for his services. After his death, he was buried in the center aisle of Winchester Cathedral.

Stephanie Patrick
Stephanie is a very talented young Clan Lamont piper from Texas, who's recording has finally enabled us to hear the sole surviving piece of Clan Lamont music. Stephanie was born in 1987, and will enter High School in the fall of 2002. She is an Honor Roll student, and is a member of the Houston Police Bagpipe Band. She enjoys volunteer work, having worked on flood relief , Meals on Wheels, and is a Counselor at the River School Camp for handicapped children. She has plans to visit Scotland or Japan as an exchange student.
